10 July 2003

Anne went to the States all the way from New Zealand, among other things... ahem... to see Melissa as she begins  what I call her "short and sweet" pre-CD release tour... and apparently the trip was worth it... because she had a blast in Seattle!  Here's her story... can't you feel the exhilaration?  :-) :-) :-) TOO COOL!!!   (thanks for letting me share your story, Anne!)

Whew...I am blown away....

Firstly let me say that that when Melissa walked on stage.....the crowd erupted and she grinned with a big "wow" look...like wow I have missed this....it was a huge buzz seeing her giggling and grinning and getting hyped. She teased and played with the crowd all night and gave us some very sexy leg shakes, hip wriggles and laughed and cackled up on stage the whole time. She broke the 10pm curfew for the pier so I guess she got fined...but we needed more and she came up with the goods!! [Big Grin] I loved that she played so many of the big hits.... I sang very loudly for nearly the whole 2hours and I am sure I was in tune [Roll Eyes] but you might have to ask the poor woman in front of me.... [Eek!]

I really liked the new song....coming from a relaxed happy place....and she forgot the words part way through and giggled until she caught up with them...

I sat down for two songs only....[in the middle-as did all the crowd and Melissa sat on the edge of the stage for those as well but that was it....then we were all allowed up to the stage so we were just about in touching distance for the rest of the night as she rocked through the big hits! Tammy was there and off to the side of the stage for most of the show...she was rocking along too! The drummer [Stephanie Eulinberg, Kid Rock's drummer] was awesome...Melissa seemed really chuffed with her.

Anyway....the highlight...was I held up my sign that I promised the Aussie boardies I would write....Hi Melissa. My Aussie friends miss you. Come "down under" soon. Anne-NZ. She read it....then pointed at me and said...I know you...this is your first time...I know....and giggled at me....then she said the weather today reminded her of Australia (it really was a gorgeous night!) and smiled at me some more while I nodded and grinned like a loony...totally flapping with excitement but I did get it together enough to blow her a kiss!!

We waited to see her leave but she just buzzed through the gate in a car with dark windows. Then we went off to the Wild Rose.!! Hee Hee. Meet LitleSue ,her g/f ,Tigger and Brad up there and knocked back a few ales....was really noisy and crowded but lots of fun and then Rhodan took me home!! [Big Grin]

(Rho adds: It was karaoke night so we got a second free concert though the quality was a little different. [Wink] )

I was a litte high....and poor Rho had quite a job getting me to go to sleep!! [Razz]

I had a blast and this may not be the most eloquent concert review you have ever read but I hope you all can read how excited I was. I met so many nice people and Rho and Nickel have been awesome taking care of my every need.! Thanks everyone for all your wishes and messages. Now....watch out Costa Mesa!! [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
