Beth went to see Melissa in Atlanta and thanks to her, we got some scoop on two interesting events.  One sad... the other one... hmmmm... mysterious!  Read on! :-)

 

I had a great time, and met some nice people. I had a little guitar for Melissa and was able to give it to her.  Melissa took the guitar, and loved it. She opened the little case, and said "it's a little guitar!" She showed it to Mark, and he tried to plug it in! She also played my request for Nowhere To Go. I have to say that I'm a little disappointed that she didn't give me a pick.  She gave out a lot, but I still love her. One obnoxious girl kept screaming at her, Melissa can I have your pick, and she finally gave her one, she said since your so persistent.  She stood in front of me numerous times, even stepped on my hand once!, but I just can't see begging for something. I try not to be rude, and ruin the show. I did get one of Phillip's picks that the roadie gave out after the show. I almost got the set list, but the girl beside me snatched it. I got Mark to sign my ticket, he was standing around when we came in. 

Trace said this is his last month with Melissa. He'll be working in a studio so he can be with his 3 kids more. I can't imagine leaving that job. She'll never be able to replace him. He came out front and jammed with the guitar on Giant.  

And Melissa told us that we're the first to hear that she's cutting all her hair off in a couple of months. She said she wouldn't do it if she didn't have to, and that we'd see why later. A movie? 

Well, it's back to the grind. Can't wait for my next show, but don't think we'll ever get this close again. She did sign things for a few people in the back when she came in. She waved when she got in the car to leave.

Update (18 May 04):   Melissa confirmed what many fans were guessing.  She said during her concert in Houston on 16 May that she is cutting her hair for a movie role... but now she is not getting it cut in August, but in November...
