16 May 2003 - My review of the Live Broadcast :-)

Hello!  OK, here is an energized Angie writing to you all after watching Melissa’s live broadcast in Cologne, Germany. 

First off, there weren’t as many people there as I would have hoped, but we kinda expected it due to the lack of promotion for this event (when will they learn) :-( 

The show started at 8:00 pm on the dot.  Melissa sang the brand new song from her upcoming album, “When You Find The One”.  (I like it!).  She talked a little bit and then she sang  another brand new song, “Good Enough”.  (I really like it!) She also sang “Giant”, yes... the other new song… great acoustic version. 

Her voice was in superb form!  Sandra (who is SO not a loser!) is sitting here reminding me to tell you all that Melissa was looking GREAT, happy, relaxed… and, in Sandra’s own words “She was HOT; baby!”  (I happen to agree *smile*) 

So… we watched “Live and Alone… THE movie”… shorter version than the DVD and we all agreed that it was very neat at the end when they played “Alive” while showing some of the behind-the-scenes footage and the credits. 

Then came the Q&A session… that was pretty neat… we already knew they would only ask two questions per site, so we figured ours wouldn’t be asked… so imagine my surprise when the second question from Cologne came from… Angie!  Tee hee… that was pretty neat. 

I had originally asked about the Spanish version of IWTBIL and also about the club mixes (who mixed them?)… So the guy asked the questions, but Melissa only understood the first one...

Anyway... my question about the Spanish version apparently was a bit challenging (I love it!)… Melissa answered that it’s not up to her to release the song… it’s up to the record company and yada yada yada… :-)  Then she said that in every record she usually does one song in Spanish… (WHAT???!!! Where are these songs!!!???) And then she said that the song was probably out there on the Internet already (No way!  Who would put it out there???) *grin*  (If you recall, Margaret found that obscure CD with the IWTBIL club mixes and the Spanish version at a record fair in Belfast -of all places!- and she kindly shared them for us to post on the 'net for other fans to enjoy) 

And last, but certainly not least...  We got the whole thing on video!  Ahhh… technology is amazing! ;-).  

Beware, though… they are BIG files, so unless you want to spend the whole weekend downloading, you’ll need to have a fast connection to the Internet…
