My dear German friend Sandra e-mailed me a couple of months before the DVD was to be released and said she wanted to have a little DVD release party at her house when it came out.  I was definitely all for it!  

So I pre-ordered the DVD from Amazon.com and on 14 November, I grabbed my bud Lisa, I grabbed the DVD and drove the 3 and a half hours to Sandra's in the city of Mærs to have what we think was the first (albeit unofficial) DVD release party in Germany... and hey, maybe in Europe! :-). 

We first went to the best Thai restaurant in Germany (in Duisburg)... tee hee... it was Sandra and her boyfriend Michael, Sandra's friend Anja, our friend Ines (who came all the way from Austria just for this!), Lisa and I.  Then came Feli and her girlfriend Caro, Feli's mom, Gunsel and her girlfiend Silvya.  It was the first time meeting each other for most of us, and we hit it off real well from the very start... a lot of cool people! :-)

After having dinner we headed back to Sandra's, where she and Michael had set up a projector with a big screen.  It was so cool!

Before we got started, I passed out "door prizes"... I had printed out copies of my favorite picture  and put them in envelopes... in each envelope I also put an Adamas pick (my friend Dunie had sent me a lot of them, so I had plenty to share).   BTW, I made sure to give LisaD credit by printing "Photo by LisaD" right under the picture, just in case you were wondering :-)  One of the envelopes had a couple more things inside, like a SKIN bumper sticker, a concert leaflet and a MLE key magnet... it was the "surprise envelope", and Anja was the lucky one to pick it :-)

We all then watched the DVD... It was the deluxe version, so we watched both CDs... 

All eyes were on Melissa :-)

I was happy to be able to take concert pictures without security coming to get me... hee hee...

After that, we sat down and talked about the DVD, about Melissa and about all kinds of other stuff until about 3:00 am... it was a very nice time!  We all promised to keep in touch, and hopefully meet again when (*crossing fingers*) I host the official DVD party! :-)
