After all the "invite" issues/confusion... I took the chance and went to HOB.

All I can say is "AMAZING"!!

There were about 200 people.... there were drinks and food.

I was at the stage right under the mic! I couldn't believe it when she came out and she was right in front of me.
As always her music/singing was awesome! But what made this night incredible for me and a lot of other people I spoke to, was all that she had to say in between songs!

Since she sang 6 or 7 songs and was up there for close to 90 minutes...you know there was a lot of speaking as well. And that's when she blew me away! Her words were so honest and inspiring!
I have a passion for her music and a passion for my work in Oncology and it was all brought together in one evening!!
I work for a very large Oncology company and work in the clinic caring for cancer patients.
She described what her chemo was like....what it was like to have cancer...how she felt physically and emotionally....and a lot of other inspiring....sometimes funny stories.

She made us all feel special in the work we do everyday!!

Here's how some of show went................

I loved her comment about how when she had any questions she always went to her "oncology nurse" rather than the doctor b/c the nurse is who knew all the answers.

She described getting chemo "brought her to the brink of death" and than after the cycle ended brought her back again....just to do it again later for another cycle.

She spoke very fondly of her wife Tammy...(you can see the love!)

She shared a very special avocado recipe she would make when she was feeling well enough to eat again.

She thanked us for doing what we do everyday and was impressed how we make cancer part of our everyday life.
She talked about winning a "little gold statue for writing a song for a "slide show" on global warming".

I said "GOOD JOB!"...She said "THANK YOU!"

What left a big impression on some of the people there was her talk of "BALANCE".

How we in the oncology field need to look outside the box and look the whole acid/alkaline pH balance. And how it affects out bodies and cells.

(People who were there that I spoke to today couldn't stop talking about this).

Last night she made a very clear impact on all who attended!

Thank you Melissa for the most incredible, honest, and entertaining show Ive ever had the pleasure of being part of!
LM
-------- I got to shake her hand and say thank you!!
