Mark and his wife certainly got lucky twice! :-)  Melissa, in what I think is an unprecedented move (well, except for Camille's special signature - if I'm wrong, please, any RealFan(tm) out there, correct me!) signed for people right on the stage as she wrapped up her concert... and if that wasn't enough... they got two signatures! :-)

Last night was the third show in a row for my wife and I (Hamilton and London being the first two) and it was the best show of the three. She played three more songs last night and time wise played 2:45 last night compared to 2:15 both previous nights.

The new song (Good Girls and Boys) was absolutely amazing and if the version on the new CD/DVD is as good as it was last night then that is reason enough to buy the new CD/DVD.

The If You Want to/Your Little Secret pairing absolutely smoked and Melissa seemed to give Phillip even more room to wail given that he was back on home-turf.

Now on to the cool personal moments.

As a bit of background my wife and I have three kids, a 4 year old and twin 2 year olds. The twins are named Catherine Grace MELISSA and William Douglas BRUCE which my wife was somewhat reluctant to do but I finally convinced her. At any rate my wife has decided that she wants two pictures signed by both Melissa and Bruce so that we can give one picture to each of them when they get older.

We have been trying unsuccessfully to obtain Melissa's signature for some time but my wife was hopeful of getting signatures at some point during the last three days.

So at every show she would stake out the same spot at the front of the stage (as an aside you have to love being a long-time member of the fan club and always getting first or second row seats - I only wish more artists would do that, Pearl Jam does but nobody else to my knowledge but anyway.) So each night my wife showed Melissa two 8 X 10s of the twins and had a small sign which stated their middle names and would she please sign the photos.

Once she knew Melissa had read the sign she put it away and just left the photos on the stage. In Hamilton Melissa signed someone's sign but made the crowd promise that they would not ask her to sign anything else so no luck that night.

In London during Giant I think maybe she was going to sign them but my wife was not quick enough with the sharpie so she had to move on.

Then last night as we went to the front my wife and I got separated and she ended up stage right and I ended up right in the middle at the monitors.

At the Hamilton and London shows Melissa had made eye contact with my wife and acknowledged the photos, etc. but last night she didn't seem to make any eye contact at all. So as the show went on I just thought that we would have to try again.

However, at the end of the show during Giant Melissa went to stage left to do the usual hand slapping across the front of the stage but first she signed 5 or 6 items, then she moved across the front slapping hands, etc. and then when she got to me she actually grabbed my hand, squeezed it tight, looked me right in the eye and said "Thank you". I had nothing better to say back except "No thank you".

She then proceeded along the front again, going to stage right, where she came upon my wife who had the two pictures of our twins. She said something like, "You've been to three shows in a row so you have enough Melissa miles to get two signatures." My wife then gave her a small gift and she thanked my wife for that and then she signed 5 or 6 more items.

Now all we need is to get Bruce's signature!

Mark
