Hi all!

I am not good at writing reviews, so this is not one.  However, I wanted to share with everyone the very perfect ending of my tour experience... this was my 5th and last "Live and Alone" tour concert, and my 6th total...

Although Mannheim was really awesome because we got to share Tim Dunker's very special 100th show, in which Melissa sang READY TO LOVE on the piano just for him... and showered him with A LOT of confetti and talked about him all night long... etc... etc... :-), Frankfurt was something truly out of this world for me.

OK... this is probably going to be long-winded... so I apologize up front!

First, when Melissa came by signing autographs backstage, I asked her if she would do my favorite HOW WOULD I KNOW, to which she replied... "YES... if I remember"... My SO told her "Oh trust me, she has a sign to remind you"... Melissa said "Oh, good"... ;-) (oh, cute moment the day before in Mannheim... when she was signing, I'd brought a little gift to her... and I said "This is for you, can you take it?"... her answer was "I dunno... Is it well?"... I thought that was cute... she did take it which was pretty neat!)

OK... so back to my story:  I had already decided that in Frankfurt I would no longer be a virgin... a "stage rush" virgin that is... ;-)  So, as soon as the concert started they allowed us to rush the stage... I was on the first row right up on the stage.  I had written a sign saying "This is my last concert on this tour (and for a while)... Would you please play my favorite song HOW WOULD I KNOW".  On the back I was requesting THE DIFFERENT.  I had another sign requesting THEY DON'T KNOW ME and in the back of that one I had a big THANK YOU :-)  (Oh... before the concert, the [wonderful] dutch fans decided we would try to get AN UNUSUAL KISS... we wrote signs and were to show them to her during song #4).

So, Melissa came out and first thing she sees is my sign asking for HOW WOULD I KNOW... she looks at me and says "Aaah!" and smiles... too cool! :-)

She seemed to be more talkative than the night before... the second song on the set list was ALL AMERICAN GIRL, but she decided to do AIN'T IT HEAVY which I like better anyway... so that was neat... especially when she let the audience sing and she was just sorta doing backup... :-)  OK... so, when the fourth song started we all showed our UNUSUAL KISS requests... Sandra's was upside down and Melissa was quick to let her know... *smile*... Anyway, she went down the list saying "No... no... no..."... She said something like "They're conspiring..." and "if you'd asked before I would have had time to practice"... Medea told her "we have been asking" or something... :-)  (I was so glad to know that Melissa finally sang AN UNUSUAL KISS in Hannover!)

A little later I turned my sign over and pointed to it with THE DIFFERENT and she smiled and said yes... so I turned it back to HOW WOULD I KNOW... whew... sorry... getting long here... OK, at some point she said yes to HOW WOULD I KNOW and no to Sandra who had the request for THEY DON'T KNOW ME.  She played a kickass version of CHROME PLATED HEART, followed by a beautiful rendition of THE WEAKNESS IN ME... Later on, she sang THE DIFFERENT and it was great!... right after THE DIFFERENT, she went to the piano and said she was singing this very sad song from her very sad album by request (I don't care if a thousand people requested it... at that moment it felt she was singing it for me *smile*)... and sang HOW WOULD I KNOW... and there was not one sound in the venue during the whole song (as in THE WEAKNESS IN ME).  It was just BEAUTIFUL beyond words... [that is my very favorite song]... so when she finished I turned the sign over and lifted it up to say THANK YOU... she did a little bow to me... *sigh*... aaaahhhhh... someone else said thank you on the other side and she bowed to them as well...

OK... so the concert continued and I had an idea... as Cin will tell you, my motto is "ask... always ask" (ok, Cin... so sometimes I get shy like in Amsterdam... hee hee)... so I made up a quick sign saying "May I please have your pick?"... I put it right under the part saying this was my last concert... I don't remember which song she started to sing when I saw her read my sign very subtlely... she kept singing and stuff and never looked at my sign again.  Then she did the last song... THE ONLY ONE... and as soon as she finished, without any hesitation... she just walked straight to me and handed me the pick... OH MY GAAAWWDDD what a moment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Just to see her walking right to me was like WOW... and then she gives me the pick and it was just the coolest moment!!!  She did not let go until she was sure I had the pick... WOW... it was such an awesome moment!!!

She did LTWID for encore 1 and PFM for encore 2.  At the end when she was saying goodbye I lifted my THANK YOU SIGN again... she looked right at me, put her hand in her heart and said "Thank YOU"...

Meeting all the wonderful people I met (Cindy, Ines, Miriam -with the hat-, Superfan, Medea, CJ, Linda... ahhh too many great people to mention!) was already an incredible experience... seeing Melissa made it 200% better... but
FRANKFURT will forever remain in my memory as the very best part of this tour for me...
