Set List - 06/22/06 Mountain Winery, Saratoga, CA

shocking, but i actually got home before midnight for the first time
this tour.
tonight was the shortest show so far on the tour: 2:35. 1 less song
than the Valley Center, Brooks and Oakland shows (Vegas had 2 more songs
than Saratoga). i believe the venue has a 10:30 pm curfew, but they
probably could have squeezed it in. the band's volume seemed lower than
the other shows, too.
it's a beautiful, small venue in the Santa Cruz mountains that
overlooks the valley, but people on the floor tend to sit at shows there. we
stood at key moments, though, yet we also did lots of "chair dancing".
the Mountain Winery stage is very short: less than a foot tall. the
floor isn't sloped so when we did stand, it was a little tough to see
MLE, even from the 4th row.
our heat wave is still ongoing, but once the sun set, it was actually
quite comfortable.
but all in all, it really was a fun show. MLE was very chatty and very
funny - we even had an inside joke that we kept from the late arrivals
(see below). <g>
a cool moment was when she climbed several rows into the right hand
side bleachers during LTWID.
she also told several stories about Beckett, who seems to be a rather
inquisitive fellow.
more tour premieres...and a promise from MLE to do my piano request in
Portland <crossing fingers>. :-)
